Strawberry Sauce: I am a huge fan of sweet and spicy. I found some strawberry jam and added some spices to this to create the wing sauce.
- In a sauce pan I heated about 1 1/2 cups of strawberry jam.
- 1 tablespoon of chili powder(and this can vary based on spice levels)
- 1/4 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 tablespoon of red chili flakes
- 2 tablespoons of water
- Salt to taste
- Then to balance out the flavors I added the juice of 1/2 of an orange
- Let this simmer for a little bit longer until it became a thick consistency
Chicken Wings:
- First I washed the chicken and patted them dry with a paper towel
- Heat your oil and make sure that when adding the chicken to the oil your oil stays the same temperature through out
- Then in a baking pan:
- 1 cup of oat flour (grind up rolled oats)
- 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
- salt for taste
- In a separate bowl beat 1 egg and add about 1/4 cup of yogurt. (Milk and buttermilk also work the same). Stir this
- Dip the chicken wings into the flour, then tap to get rid of the access flour
- Then dip into the egg mixture
- Dip the chicken back into the flour and shake off any access
- Then add it to the fryer
*If you feel your chicken cooked too quickly on the outside and not on the inside, throw it into the oven for a few minutes until you think it is ready.
Once the chicken is done, brush the sauce on top of the crispy chicken and enjoy 🙂
