BOSTON 2018

Historical with a dash of modern is what I like to call the city of Boston, MA.

I visited in early September not really knowing what to expect other than it will be cold. We did a little bit of research of the city, but kinda landed there clueless. By the end of the trip, all of us had fallen in love with the city. Some of my friends even said “I see my self living here, it feels like home.” (She hasn’t moved yet haha)  The best thing to do in Boston is just walk around. The brick buildings next to these massive skyscrapers will have you surprised of all the things you can find.

We started off our Friday morning at a local coffee shop, Tatte Coffee Shop. It was the perfect place grab that quick insta pic. Along with the pictures, we had fresh roasted coffee and warm pastries. We ordered the Cinnamon Pecan Rose, The Cheese Bourekas, a mocha, the drip coffee, and a macchiato. The cheese bourekas was not a taste we were acquired to, but if you love goat and brie cheese then I would recommend you try it out. Mikes Pastry is another place I’ve heard of but haven’t gotten the chance to go yet. So if you’ve been there or are planning to go, let me know what you think.

After breakfast we decided to walk around, right next door was the Boston Public Library. The most beautiful library I have ever stepped foot in. People were actually studying there and we no idea how, the place was too beautiful to be focusing on a book. The history behind the art and building was amazing, it didn’t feel like a library at all. Remember when I said Boston was a even blend of history and modern times, well this library proves that. In the center of the library is this serene garden and on the other side of the garden is the “modern” side to Boston. Entering through big glass doors, walls of abstract art, and new channels giving interviews about modern day society. This library truly captures the aesthetic of the city. The library located next to the Boston Public Garden is a must, and words can not even describe how serene and peaceful the garden is. The graceful swans gliding their way across the multiple ponds located there is just heart warming.

Isabella Garden Museum was our next stop, about a 20-30 min walk from the library. There is a fee to go inside but again another very instgrammable location. The greenery inside mixed with the architecture is a place to visit.

Boston Burger Company, known for their amazing burgers and milkshakes!! 🙂 I highly recommend the jalapeno burger with the m&m milkshake! A lot goes a long way so if you want to I would split the milkshake haha.

Trillium Beer Garden is an amazing summer days chill spot. The beautiful outdoor location gleaming with little lights in the center of the city next to the harbor is a great way to kick back and chill. Wether you drink or not the location is a must see! Looking for a more chill, classy night, check out Yvonne’s. An upscale bar/restaurant, with dim lights and great music is a great place to hang out on a Saturday night.

Boston is known for clam chowder and seafood. Boston Chowda Co. at Quincy Market has by far the most delicious clam chowder and buttery lobster rolls I have ever had!  Quincy Market gives you a very local town market feel, with local vendors, flowers shops, musicians and artists spread across a few blocks of Boston.

The Harborside Grill and Patio gives you the best view of Boston. Enjoy the city skyline next to a cozy campfire and some great buffet food. Take a sweater though it does get a little chilly next to the water.
