West African Food Truck

I’ve never had west African food before and this dish is a speciality to regions close to Nigeria.

It’s jolof rice with chicken. The food was cooked with a tomato base and a bunch of different spices. The chicken was tender and fell right off the bone. It was a nice blend between spice and flavor. It was a bit heavy for lunch because the the rice was a bit dense. So if you’re looking for a light meal to not fall asleep to, you might want to reconsider your lunch options. This dish was $9. The amount and taste of the plate was proportionate to the amount I paid.

The truck also sold a coconut rice with chicken and meat pies. The meat pies were like samosas (an Indian fried snack). Those were 2 for $6 and were also decently sized for the amount you were paying.

We went to this food truck in NOMA, on I street. It stood out compared to the regular taco and gyro trucks that are there.
